Teddy Johnston | Vice President
Teddy is a Vice President at Boundary Stone Partners. Teddy served as the U.S. Department of Commerce where he oversaw Secretary Penny Pritzker’s private sector engagement as the Director of the Office of Business Liaison. During his tenure, Teddy served as the Secretary’s representative to Fortune 500 companies. He assisted companies from a range of industry sectors dealing with issues as diverse as market access challenges in India to concerns over cross-border data flows between the U.S. and E.U.
Teddy played a key role in orchestrating a Presidentially-designated 2015 clean tech trade mission that took 24 U.S. companies to China, and he represented the Secretary’s interests on the U.S.-India CEO Forum. He also served as a member of Commerce’s Digital Economy Leadership Team, championing the Department’s constant engagement with new, disruptive technology companies. Under Teddy’s leadership, the Office of Business Liaison also conducted a methodical outreach campaign to members of the U.S. business community interested in understanding the Administration’s new policy towards Cuba.
Between 2012 and 2013, Teddy served as the White House Liaison for the Department of Commerce, and prior to that he served as Chief of Staff at the International Trade Administration where he worked on matters of trade policy, export promotion and foreign direct investment.
A native of Bloomington, Indiana, Teddy did his undergraduate work at Emory University and holds master’s degrees from both the University of Chicago and Indiana University’s School of Public & Environmental Affairs. Before signing on to launch the Obama campaign in Florida in December of 2006, Teddy spent a number of years living, working and studying in London.
